I've been living in Bakersfield for the past two decades and never visited this place, mainly because of parking issues. The food scene was not surprising, as we mostly went to bars or enjoyed drinks there. It seemed like they were more of a punk rock experience than anything else.
I enjoyed the food and the staff and various events. The chile verde pizza and blue kamikaze mixed drinks were fantastic, and it was an excellent choice for nightlife events like emo night. Additionally, the building is still built in the 90s, making it one of the few pizza places/bars that can be considered time-travel friendly. Would you recommend this place?
I can honestly say that this pizza joint is some of the worst in Bakersfield. The waitstaff was aggressive and had a dispute with 'the homeless person' during our initial visit, and we also had to endure an hour-long wait for mediocre pizza in essentially deserted surroundings.
Our dining experience here yesterday included a 12-inch pizza, fries and beer. The pizza was not as tasty or moist as the individual slices I ordered, and the crust was lacking in texture. We were given crinkle-cut soft dough that was undercooked and not hot, while the fries came out after 10 minutes of eating. Overall, it was disappointing.
The food and staff here are always friendly, the service is excellent, and the party atmosphere is reminiscent of the downtown bar scene. I would highly recommend this place for someone seeking an inexpensive yet lively drink.
My lack of familiarity with downtown life led me to wait until finally arriving here. I was pleasantly surprised when I heard about the birria pizza and chile verde pizza with gluten free crust, and felt like I could walk out on my feet without feeling like crying. The waiter was patient and helpful while we were trying different dishes. It was an amazing experience.
This place is a must-visit spot for carne asada fries and birria tacos, with an amazing combination of food and drinks. Although the pizza may be salty, we highly recommend it.
Our dining experience at jerry's has been nothing short of amazing, with top-notch service and food. We decided on a bacon cheeseburger and fries last night (10/22/23), and the meat was perfectly sliced; the bun was toasty soft and we enjoyed the lettuce perfectly fine. The only downside is that they give us extra ketchup for three more bites.
My wife and I used to frequent this place, which was originally a dive bar in the late 80s and early 90s. We decided to try their birria pizza and we were impressed by the historic decor and delicious asada fries. They also had an amazing flavor that made me want to go back for more of our favorite dishes. Plus, they're pretty cool!
Despite my desire for a chili verde pizza, I have been consistently unsuccessful. The cheddar was excellent and the chunks were preferable over shredded pork. And the spicy flavor caught my attention.
