Our first visit to this place was a great one, and we were thrilled with the food served here. We chose their lava cut roll, spicy nabeyaki udon, chicken katsu, which is excellent. The kudon soup is slightly spicy and hearty, while the staff makes sure our meal is presented perfectly, making us feel at home.
Despite its unpretentious exterior, it has a Japanese-esque vibe. Happy hour offers plenty of opportunities to try different dishes at reasonable prices. My personal favorites include the izakaya (beef tongue, pork jowl, and porridge), but I couldn't resist trying the pork belly and beef buns because they were too spicy for my taste. Overall, I enjoyed our three meals together and definitely had some fun.
My next visit to the location is imminent, and I'm excited to try other dishes. I tucked into the jumbo shrimp with chicken breast served with ume yakitori, as well as my boyfriend's delicious naburi miso. The staff and atmosphere at the restaurant are welcoming and cooperative, even taking care of us when we leave our plates behind. We also appreciated their attention to detail in making sure our meals were satisfactory.
The place is always packed with people we visit, and we love coming back for more. We've brought friends and family here, enjoyed some delicious food, stayed with friendly weight staff, etc... Happy customers!
During my stay in the area over 10 years ago, I discovered this place and it has become a favorite spot for meetings with friends. The food and service at this restaurant are outstanding, and although some people complained about the lighting during our visit, we wanted to make improvements in terms of the overall experience. We also appreciated the attentive service and quality of meals served.
I put my name on the yelp waitlist before we left, and we were promptly seated in a spacious booth at the back of the house. The restaurant provided friendly service, reasonable prices, surprisingly priced food, parking facilities for drinks, staff for beer, etc. Overall, overall experience was great. Food was good, but disappointing.
Although there are plenty of good ones around Fullerton, I do enjoy the aesthetic appeal. However, its lack of ventilation issues (like a strong smell from the elevators near the front steps) is making it an issue for me. The overall rating is 8/10 but at least they have improved on my previous experience with the restaurant.
This Japanese restaurant has been a long-standing favorite among my friends, and the waitstaff was friendly. The room was spacious, there were ample seating areas, but it also had fewer people waiting for us than I had anticipated upon checking in via yelp.
Our family was in dire need of some yakitori, so we decided on this place. We were there during happy hour, which included a 50% discount on beer and food items at reasonable prices. The spicy tuna cracker was the only item we ordered, but it had sour taste (shouldn't have been crispy here), and I wouldn'T recommend that. Additionally, we enjoyed the blue cheese roll with no discernible fish flavor from the outside area.
This is one of the few yakitori restaurants that I can truly recommend, right down the street from my old favorite (honda-ya). We spent almost half an hour in this neighborhood trying to find good "chef specials," but the chicken wing menu didn't stand out. It was definitely disappointing.
