Although the restaurant is beautiful and welcoming, the prices were unavailing. We paid $15 for carrots and beets, and it was gross and made us feel hungry. The food was decent but not good enough for our meal; we expected craft cocktails priced at $15 - $17. I might return to this place only because of the wine and cheese served during the meal.
A lovely setting can be found near the Capistrano Train Station. We opted for the Burrata salad, followed by the Cauliflower Shawarma and then the more delectable Fried Chicken and Short Ribs; all were excellent choices!
We took a day trip to SJC and decided on Mayfield, spooky neighborhood restaurant with nice bright and open space. The food and service were outstanding, and I loved my fresh grain bowl. I would definitely order again from there! I also had the perfect corn ribs that was on good quality.
We had a great time at this spot. The interiors are simply amazing, the food is fantastic, and they even let us bring our dogs for social occasions. It was my favorite place to spend an evening, making it perfect for any meal.
Despite having visited before for a staycation and receiving great reviews on yelp, I was disappointed to find that the host and two groups in front of me were waiting for 15 minutes to put their name down. It was not an ideal first impression as it seemed like everyone would be talking about themselves without any hesitation.
Definitely worth checking out as it's an amazing place to be seen by girls. Not exactly a family venue but this place is perfect for sharing memories with others. Food and service are also impressive, even the smallish portions may not be appreciated.
After avoiding the line at least for another day, my friend and I found this restaurant for lunch. We were served up there for brunch since it's not too busy outside so we had to sit in front of the bar because their sandwiches were pretty good (I actually loved the french toast with its jam on top) and they served us a bowl of rice (so good that I didn't need softboiled eggs instead). The food was also very good
My original review is updated with a star following the thoughtful comments provided below. Old Town San Juan has many great restaurants, but depending on your budget and location will determine whether or not you would recommend this place.
The cozy atmosphere and exceptional food at this spot make for a perfect dinner experience. Our table was filled with focaccia, spinach whipped feta, and delicious sausage rolls. We also enjoyed the Muhammara or Date Labneh, but our meal was disappointing due to its size. I highly recommend trying this place.
Mayfield is a restaurant and winery that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an experience. Although I am not ardent food lover, I did enjoy my steak and eggs at Mayfeld and my fiancé ordered eggs with tomato sauce on top and kale. Both dishes were excellently presented and served quickly, with exceptional bread.
