I'm a big fan of women-owned businesses and was thrilled to visit Perla on Friday night. We booked an online reservation and were immediately taken to their indoor dining room. The outdoor patio was decorated with string lights and various cocktails, which we tasted delicious and carefully prepared by mixologists. My main dish was the grilled fish tacos, another favorite.
I found perla on yelp and was excited to hear positive feedback. Perla is a popular spot in Santa Ana, CA, and offers dinner plans through opentable every weekend. The restaurant is located on the corner of w 4th street and has upscale interiors with oversized restroom facilities that were poorly maintained. My meal included some orders for chicken tenders at the nearby eatery; this place serves meals hot and cold buffet style food.
Yelp was the first to review this place, and we were pleasantly surprised by the food, drinks, or service. The patio area was lovely even though it was very hot. We also enjoyed happy hour with a variety of starters and drinks such as la cometa and la madre, which were both excellent cocktails, while the chipotle chicken nachos were delicious and perfect for sharing. Our party couldn't have had any better drinks.
The food and drink are delicious, and the service is excellent. The ladies at the front are delightful and it's a great touch. You can also request to hear specific songs!
My husband and I were eagerly anticipating date night dining, so we decided on perla over other options. The food was a hit with my husband, who had been dying for bone marrow since August but couldn't find any in the way of flavor or texture.
The cinco de mayo happy hour gathering at this place was an absolute pleasure, with great drinks, delicious food and friendly bartenders. I particularly enjoyed my order of mi viejo, a dish made with tequila and has pronounced smokey flavors. My tip for the $5 off cocktails deal struck me as very good. Thank you!
I would give a 5 star rating for dining experiences, and although the perla was not perfect, our server was polite but not very accommodating. The food was fresh and tasty, but considering the cost of the meal, there are many options to choose from. Overall, it's worth trying out!
Despite the small size of the restaurant/bar, we had a great time at this place for supper and our food service was outstanding. The cocktails were beautiful and refreshing, although my drink from one dish was not very good. We also had the opulent steak tacos, which were disappointing due to their lack of flavor. I'm happy with this! (I actually enjoyed them anyway!) Thank you!
Despite living in Oc and visiting Santa Ana, I've never been able to find this place. Perhaps it's because I frequently visit the old town where I live and didn't know there was actually anywhere nearby. My date recommended perla after seeing another advertised area from my previous trip that was closed on Tuesdays.
