The salsa bar is fantastic! I could eat almost every flavor from the habanero salsa ($25 for me)! It was amazing how many different kinds of salsas are available at happy hour, and the street tacos were perfect: tender carne asadas, juicy margaritas, good-tasting margitcas, great value for money, free chips and salsases! Everything was delicious! We had a wonderful brunch there.
This taco spot is our go-to spot on tacco Tuesday, and the service was impeccable! We didn't have to wait long. The mocahete and spicy margarita are divine, but the bean dip may be too spicy for us. Highly recommended! Enjoy!
Despite waiting for 20 minutes to enter after the walk-in, we decided to try their special menu and were taken aback by the decor and marachi band. The staff at this place was very friendly and accommodating, and our birthday party was incredibly festive. We had chicken tacos and shrimp ceviche all on their patio, as well as an appetizer complete with chips and lime juice.
After dining here for a while, I'm pleased with the quality of "el tapatio." Where my previous 3-star review was due to their lack of steak in their fajitas, this place is always packed with people, which should be expected. I visited on Thursday night at 6:30pm and found out that last week it was only through bookings from 7 days ago.
Outstanding service from the waiter, who helped refill our water bottles, and the manager's attentiveness. The house margarita was incredibly tasty without being overly generous with chips, bean dip, or salsa. We had an amazing time ordering regular cilantro rice and shrimp chile rellenos (great taste in flavor). We also brought some unused leftovers to warm up!
As a native of oakland, I always look for tacos and tasty carnitas in my neighborhood. I discovered El Tapatio before moving to downtown and was immediately impressed by the friendly atmosphere and outstanding service. The staff at El Taiba restaurant are always on time, even with their busy schedule.
My birthday was on Saturday and we were there with my family for lunch. I chose cocktail shrimp, but the menu didn't include anything else. The waitress service was subpar, and I had to ask for beans and chips multiple times before being denied entry. Upon checking out, she gave me a price for the brunch that night.
After many visits, this is the first time I've tried it. I arrived during the busy lunch rush and was seated quickly with hot chips and salsa on either side and a refreshing warm bean dip as my server readied me for drinks. My plate was filled with chile colorado served with mexican rice, refried pinto beans (with guacamole) and an appetizing combination.
