In San Francisco, it's always nice to have a rooftop destination that offers sweeping city views and ambiance. The atmosphere is comfortable and you can easily walk up to the Proper Hotel via McAllister or vice versa.
We went to Charmaine's for a friend' birthday celebration, and although it appeared to be fun, the actual cooking was not as impressive as expected. The fire pit seating arrangement, which seemed cramped, left us with no place to drink from and snacks scattered around the table; we also found that we were having drinks on charcuterie boards and couldn't put our drinks down on the small tables because they were too hot outside.
