Ours was an absolutely perfect mimosa. We couldn't have asked for more, but the bartender was very polite and had great service. The garlic noodles on our chimichurri stayed just on the table (I actually thought it was too hot, so I decided to go with that). It wasn'T supposed to be served cold, which I didn' think would be disappointing.
Despite the busy weather, we had an amazing brunch at this restaurant. The food was delish, and the service was impeccable. Our server served our bottomless mimosas (lychee with passion mango flavor) perfectly, while we enjoyed delicious sugarcane shrimp ($13 for jelly) and poached shrimp summer rolls ($14 for rice), which were beyond words but disappointing. My friends ordered chicken from the chicken bowl and waffle and chicken, which they said were okay but not good enough.
Despite not being a traditional Vietnamese eatery, co nam is an innovative and modern take on Vietnamese cuisine, featuring authentic Vietnamese chefs behind the counter. I was in need of pho for lunch when I discovered their filet mignon puffed up with raw umami and almost too spicy. The meat served here was also extremely rare.
The location and overall quality of the food are impressive, and the place is a great spot for eating. The food is mostly excellent, but the service is subpar due to some basic organizational issues. I'm not convinced they intend to harm our relationship or apologize for the inconvenience caused by my previous experiences.
Our meal was a perfect 10/10, with deliciousness and size in mind. We started with the warm and flaky Roti roll and the amazing sauce it had on top. The sugarcane shrimp (not real but tasteless) was served alongside fried bennie rolls.
Upon arriving at the restaurant on telegraph ave in Oakland, our craving for Vietnamese food was immediately apparent as we arrived around 6 pm. Although not entirely safe due to its poor visibility, it's worth trying this place out since it has no parking available. The indoor area is relatively small, and there are some tables set up outside while the outdoor spot is quite nice.
We had a great brunch on Sunday and enjoyed sesame crusted chili ribs, steak and eggs, chicken and waffles. The blueberry cocktail was delicious and creamy, just like the coffee I got. They also added viet coffee to the drink, which is my favorite. Overall, we couldn't have asked for more!
This spot in Oakland is incredibly cute! The bar is spotless and the food is plentiful. The brunch menu is full with modern Vietnamese twists on classic entrees. Our meal only cost $18 for our table, which was worth it considering one mimosa costs $12. We were served poached shrimp summer roll (4/5) which came with a generous helping of rice and green beans.
It's a great spot for happy hour, especially from noon to midnight. The bartender at this venue is very friendly and has oodles of food options available throughout the day. I had hoped to dine here last night but couldn't have found any other enjoyable experience. My favorite drink was some good quality mochi dumplings with spicy ingredients and delicious side dishes.
For a quick taste and an app, it's perfect. I can't wait to try more food and drinks from Connie Nan! The owner is so sweet, inviting, and funky-- even showing me the door when she invited me to their bar for ice cream or tea. We also had some special tastings at the nearby tasting room... these are all mouth watering!
