Small Bar has been completely revamped, with a new and more sophisticated vibe that draws inspiration from the nearby Madison and Park & Rec. The food menu is straightforward and may change over time, but I'm particularly fond of the Chicken Skewers. Crispy fries are served alongside the chicken, which tastes just like chipotle chips.

In early February, Johnston's, the former location of Small Bar, was officially opened. The business is named after a hundred-year-old five-and-a-half variety store. It shares its ownership with Park & Rec, which is located on University Heights and has some seating available on the front sidewalk and parklet. Access to the interior is via stairwell down the hallway. I recently explored the restaurant in the adjacent Grand Central Hotel.

The update was made after being pleasantly distracted by the Yelp Elite invite email, which I received on the afternoon. However, my wanderlust and lack of company spirit led me to mistakenly assume that I had arrived earlier.
