Upon arriving at the set time for our rendezvous, we were treated to a delicious Gimlet and an old-fashioned one! We were taken care of as guests watched their meals at this spot. Although I found both drinks tasty, it was reminiscent of what I usually associate with Bare Beer Wines, and they tend to serve G&T's more often, which isn’t my preference.
The restaurant in San Diego that received media coverage once again appears to be a typical, uninteresting, and overrated establishment. While the prosciutto iberico was dry and pre-sliced, the swordfish was outstanding, but everything else was subpar.
We were given the Aphrodite, Lucky Penny, Pickerling Passage - Washington as fresh oysters. My husband got two lucky penny ones, which were light but sweet. Mabel's gone Fishing was our choice. Our server informed us that we should share portions and served an avocado salad with spices/season and seaweed flakes. We also enjoyed delicious chorizo croquettes at the nearby restaurant. The fish vendor provided generous portions of both Spanish and Portuguese dishes.
