Our server Lorenzo was hilarious and recommended the most delicious food. My friends loved the bruschetta and I chose beef tartar, while the pork tenderloins were excellent despite being small. The halibut was slightly dry but still tasty, making our next visit even more enjoyable. Thank you for your review! It was fantastic to have such an enjoyable evening.
Among the best in the area, this restaurant offers top-notch service and a backyard area with heat lamps for optimal dining enjoyment. I've only had the good bruschetta once (not bad, but not by any means necessary); it also has vegetarian options; my vegan brother couldn't have been more accommodating to his cheese (pictured here with vegan protrusions above).
The restaurant is located upstairs in a charming old house in the Castro. Inside, the space is cozy and bright with soft lighting, and there's ice outside where you can enjoy drinks and snacks. Their Happy Hour offers some great options for those who want to indulge in their main dishes that are not cheap, but it'll be worth it if you're willing to pay more money for one.
The interior of this restaurant is incredibly cute, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. However, I've had other Italian restaurants in the past that were better; my pasta was slightly undercooked and sauce was too thick and greasy. My friends who ordered other items complained that their pasta tasted too salty or too much for its cost.
The Castro is a gorgeous location with an abundance of natural light and cozy decor, perfect for enjoying espresso martini and bolognese. The food is freshly made and served in savory flavors, and the staff is always helpful and accommodating. I would highly recommend trying homemade Italian dishes.
