Our group of 12 arrived at Sheba after karaoke across the street. Although we didn't reserve, they were an excellent choice for our group dinner. We shared a variety of meals, including burgers, sides, and meat dishes; my favorite was the catfish and beef tartare. I loved how tender it was and why they served it so perfectly. The beef Tartar is incredibly hard, but not like its raw counterparts.
If you're into jazz or something more traditional, Sheba Piano Lounge is a great little restaurant/bar that offers everything. We arrived just one day after visiting the tourist spots around the city, but it was packed with people and the music was amazing. The place is small and intimate, with mood lighting and candles, and delicious spices from the kitchen.
After stumbling upon some good Ethiopian food in the City, I found myself drawn to Sheba "Jozz" Lounge. Upon entering, there was an abundance of food and incense, live jazz performances by local musicians, and friendly local people. Although I didn't order my usual Ethiopianism on the menu, it was still enjoyable. I also enjoyed the mushroom flavored sorbet and milk chocolate mousse with crispy topsides. When I
Despite our beautiful weather, we decided to try Ethiopian food and order some soup from this lovely restaurant in San Francisco. The decor was decent, but the lighting wasn't particularly bright (we were underwhelmed by the wind) and service was polite even after ordering two portions. We were served salads and drinks, which seemed like they might be a little overcooked.
Definitely worth checking out if you're into jazz music and trying some authentic Ethiopian cuisine! Right from the moment I stepped foot inside, we were treated to the trumpet, drums/piano and bass by a jazz band. The venue is situated in an old wooden building but has remained so since 2009, and unfortunately, it wasn't immediately accessible when we arrived.
We had a great time at this place, which was conveniently located in the center of the city. There's also plenty of parking and lots of natural light for guests to enjoy their evening meal. My cousin recommended it, and we loved its peaceful atmosphere with amazing food and live music. The staff was friendly, but not very helpful, especially the bar staff who checked my ID and vaccination status.
Our table at this Ethiopian restaurant was a hit with my friends who had been there for dinner and we were served sour when Lily's Ethiopia food arrived. The service was excellent, and the parking was metered perfectly, making it more enjoyable than most places. It smells like the spices found in AYCE kbbq but is less noticeable here.
We're a fan of Ethiopian cuisine and we were thrilled to see great reviews on Yelp from Sheba. The vegetarian sampler and Tibs Wat were both delicious, and the server was attentive but also helpful. They provided injera instead of flatbread for main course.
With live jazz and a lively 7pm performance, the atmosphere is truly one-of-a-kind. Service is also outstanding, but it's difficult to understand why. The food served is very generous, particularly the small portions.
Reviewed the place only for drinks and music. Lovely lively vibe inside, small room next to the piano with nice jazz playing. Barrel players attentive but excellent mixers - more food next time. Will definitely order there next day.
