Despite being situated slightly outside of Laguna's prime location, the place is oceanfront and has good visibility for beachcombers. The hotel doesn't offer street parking and was not easily accessible. We had to book an open table due to lack of elevator or easy access to the restaurant. Our dinner was served on a 3-course prix fixe menu with burrata and artichokes instead of mains.
Our restaurant week was filled with memorable experiences. We arrived with a reservation and were met with terrible service from the waitstaff, who seemed to be unfriendly towards our dining needs. The waitress we chose was not welcoming, and she forgot her tip for refilling our drinks. I went for the mediocre burgers and fries (which were okay), but my friend decided to have the hard-to-eat sandwich.
The server, Javier, was very accommodating and courteous when a friend's drink was not well received. I highly recommend this martini even though it may be pricey, but the view and service are commendable. If you can sit outside, ask for Javon! Thank you so much!
Our plans were disrupted by traffic so we decided to stay in the area. We found the coupon for oak in our hotel packet and luckily reserved it. The bacon tacos and French toast were delicious, while the food was plentiful and service was friendly. It was cold outside and they provided a heater for my daughter. I'll definitely be back.
The trip on Sunday, which I truly enjoyed thanks to Carmen and Holly, was a wonderful and tranquil experience, according to Mike.
Oak is situated on the second floor and offers both indoor and outdoor seating options. Our dinner for OC restaurant week included grilled artichoke and burrata, as well as chicken Parmesan and flatiron steak. The meal was delectable but also had a nice sauce and mashed potatoes served alongside pit-style steak that seemed more like scrumptious than the parmesans.
The food at this spot is simply amazing, especially considering its central location and proximity to various eateries. The overall experience was nothing short of stellar, and the staff and decor were commendable.
We had a great time here, dining at three tables and enjoying drinks without any hassle. The food was delicious, and the staff provided us with plenty of company throughout the event. I'm not taking it lightly -- I didn't even know what to eat or drink during our visit. Speaking of food, I don'T think I spoke too much.
I arrived at my friend's birthday party recently and although the cocktail list was quite lengthy, I found the Frosted Cranberry seasonal cocktail to be incredibly refreshing. The cocktail included cranberry gin and champagne, plus edible glitter and rock candy! Additionally, we had ginger miso glazed salmon for starters that was perfectly cooked and served on a bed of fried forbidden rice which is one of my favorite dishes.
Despite the good quality of the food and service, our wine selection is not up to par. The server did not ask us to taste the wine before serving them, and they simply didn't bother with the order.
