We had an amazing time at this place, highly recommended by previous guests and staff. The food was delicious, the waitress attentive, and even shared a pic of fried chicken with us for lunch. I couldn't be happier with the meal since it was served in two portions.
Despite its reputation as a great spot for socializing with friends, the place is run down in quality. The service, food and drinks are not up to par; there's also an underwhelming reception.
I'm enjoying a meal in this place while attending an important conference in town. The restaurant was definitely packed, especially when the doors opened at 11:30, and the staff was unprepared for the busy waitresses who had to make sure everyone got their fillings. However, overall, everything was delicious, the beer selection was on point, served generous portions, including pilsner from the Russian river and kolsch from nearby stations.
As a visiting guest of friends in Sacramento, we had the pleasure of trying out two "public house downtown" experiences during the weekend. The food was delectable and there were excellent real restaurant dishes, as well as friendly bartenders and staff. I wouldn't classify this place as upscale or posh, especially since it is not geared towards professional sports fans.
Although pricier than other pubs, the food and cheese enchiladas make for an excellent meal. The steak was perfectly cooked (although I'm not sure how many times I asked for medium but they were too good).
For the first time ever, I've been to Public House Downtown during happy hour, and they have an amazing selection of food and drinks from $5 to $15. I frequent the spot between now and friday and was able to secure a table before everyone else arrived. After visiting for two days with my friends on Friday, we ended up ordering some sides including chips and hot dogs.
Upon arriving at the venue on Sunday, we were fortunate to be able to use free metered street parking and access to an adjacent parking garage. Our party of 4 quickly took our place and requested drinks/food from the server who was not readily available. We also enjoyed cocktails made with an old-fashioned twist instead of using scoops or rocks served by the manager.
The location is perfect for enjoying food, drinks, and watching sports. Unfortunately, the staff was not very helpful and our waitress appeared to be occupied with our items at happy hour. Although we were served sandwiches, we received standard menu items such as steak sandwiches (left) and chicken strips, public house burgers, salads like pineapple and avocado, which I appreciated. Additionally, all dishes listed on the website had good flavor.
Although I've been dining here for as long as I can remember, the food and drinks were decent despite our waitstaff's lack of attention to us. We had to ask someone to check our checks out before they could complete them; they were kind and accommodating. My drinks from the restaurant were not good, but others didn't match my taste preferences.
