Our visit to a small chicken joint in downtown Sacramento was piqued by the delicious food. We arrived early to the speakeasy, but were served pomegranate drinks and bites made with Nashville style chicken. The food was tasty and refreshing, perfect for what lay ahead! We would have liked more tables with less height or lower chairs.
i love this place! It has the best fried chicken in Sac, plus urban roots is great for me! The staff is very friendly and the vibe is cozy. They have both outdoor and indoor seating options as well as a speakeasy available nearby. I'm definitely going back to visit them!
The dining room was fantastic for my first visit, featuring a large dining area with ample space and seating arrangements for groups. The food was excellent, and the staff served generous portions quickly. I'm planning to return next time when I visit this place. Additionally, the fish was perfectly cooked, as well as the dipping sauce and mac and cheese were delicious.
Located in the heart of midtown, this trendy restaurant on R and 15th offers plenty of parking but is notorious for being busy at weekends. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, the staff is attentive, and food is freshly made right at the counter (which I love!). We had chicken & waffles and fried fish, which were both very tasty.
I have a weakness for hot chicken sandwiches and frequented various restaurants in the area, but the one at Bawk is the best option. All you need to do is enter your number and pay before you can order online.
The restaurant was a hit with customers on Saturday night, as we were treated to nice food and cozy surroundings. Although the chicken was not particularly hot due to the dark cooking, the fish and fries were excellent, I would have preferred to go upstairs to our bar instead. Unfortunately, there are several other bars nearby, so it's best to ride bikes outside the building for some company.
Enjoy a great happy hour at this place. Between noon and 2pm, you can enjoy $5 draft beers, delicious chicken bites, friendly staff members, and onsite hot drinks and an overflow bar.
Despite the fact that the fried chicken at Urban Root is supposed to be great, it tasted like hard candy. My husband and I were disappointed because we had been served crispy wings with chewy sauce instead of crunchy buns and sauces for lunch.
Despite being located in the heart of downtown, this restaurant is not easily accessible during busy meal times and has a reputation for being overpriced. Their southern fried chicken and drinks are renowned for their crispy crusts. While they had good quality red bean and rice, but were disappointed by the dryness of the cornbread with cinnamon butter that added to the flavor; oysters were also delicious without any oiliness. Overall, though great value, I would definitely recommend trying this place.
We had a great experience at Bawk for the first time, with seating available and attentive service. The chicken was perfectly cooked and served on top of soft mushrooms, bacon, and green onions. Our meal was spotless! It was also delicious and refreshing as well.
